Fucking idiots. 99% probability they didn't actually pay the full bond, they paid a bondsman 10% of the total bond (if they did pay the full bond they would get it back when he showed up to court which they obviously thought he would. Really noble of them.)
The current national trend is to do away with bonding companies and have private firms evaluate flight risk of each defendant to "eliminate racism." Yea, right. Cali is the state to watch as its estimated it will be at least $30B just to implement the first year. And nobody has seen racism like what will happen when this gets implemented unless you lived in the 1950's (to an extent without water cannons).
A Bondsmen's job is to keep people OUT of jail and we could care less about their race. Ive reposted bond for people multiple times who miss but call me to tell me (we get a continuance from the judge) They have to have a co-signer and pay the fee (10% to 20% depending on severity of the charge) and just show up to court. That's it. Most jurisdictions have a "walk-in docket" where they don't even need a bondsmen. For misdemeanors judges usually will throw out the charges s long as they show up for their court date. If they miss court they can either repost bond or the court mandates we return them to the custody of the court system. If we cant do either I forfeit the entire bond. I have all the incentive to determine if my defendant is going to miss or not and I'm pretty good at it (roughly 10% miss on me)
I usually get accused of being a racist when I have to track down a black defendant who has missed court multiple times though he/she signed a contract promising to go to court having only to pay a fraction of what the bond would have cost them. They get even more upset if I have a black partner with me. LOL.
So good luck Cali. Your cops barely have enough time to do their primary job with all the associated paperwork, and then be tasked with the job to track down and serve warrants on fugitives whose crimes mostly amount to traffic misdemeanors and dui and non-violent offenses.

Ih, and if it was a cash bond, the judge believes he actually did it. No bondsman involved he pays the entire bond. And gets it back (at least here) when ha goes to court.

california is pretty much a one party state..i believe as far as state-wide offices, 1 is held by a "republican"...most "republicans" in this state are a novelty and have to suck the asses of the faggot democrat overlords...i cant fuckin wait until this state entirely implodes.there are simply no surprises as far what kind of stupid laws and policies these cunts will cook up.
