Despite being a giant onesie faggot, and infamously trolling the old Sucko site, causing infinite amounts of butthurt that still burns to this day, Bono actually doesn't want to ask you guys for donations to run the site.
He even already coded a system for you guys to be able to buy a pro rank for a small donation so you can support the site, but doesn't wanna impelemt it because he doesn't have much spare time to sit around and give instant tech support if something should go wrong, so he just keeps paying the bill, month after month....
He's a saint really.

During protozucko all the stuff on the sidebar had a tab on your profile. The random button, favorites, chat... I assume that's what Pro Tools are. The only page I ever see him update is the change log though, so it's possible the FAQ is reflecting something that once was, and now is not.

October 5, 2019 + Removed Advertisements from the sidebar. MuchoZucko is not very expensive to run, and we can find better ways to offset cost than annoying porno playing on every page for visitors.

I thought the pro tools allowed you to mute comments but I mean... Every zuckerfag has access to chat on here so it's just confusing. Maybe it doesn't work on mobile... But I could have sworn on PC it was the same story unless I missed something when I logged in last. Oh well. I like the idea of paying to mute a giggles comment exclusively. I'd pay a dollar though... Its easier to get that than 5 dollars per 1 day mute. The dough would just roll in.

Yeah there aren't any pro tools hidden away from you, they don't exist, yet. It was all from the time when we were still brainstorming new ideas, and Bono haven't updated that FAQ in a while. Just like the list of ranks is wrong, sometimes the simplest explanation of lazyness or forgetfulness is the correct one.

CB was right that there used to be a bunch of options on your user profile. Some of these got deleted because they were retarded, useless tools. Some of them got moved to the sidebar that follows you around the site. Some of these used to be locked behind certain Mucho Rep Point thresholds. Chat is a vestige of this. Noobs can't use it because I don't feel like policing it.
I have other things I've been wanting to release for a long time, just haven't found the right way. Barret has an idea list as well.

Straight up, I wrote most of the FAQ before the site was even fully functional. It's a snapshot of where my mind was at the time. Just trying to preserve multiple communities and plan for the future. It also sort of served as a guideline for things I did going forward. Lots of stuff needs a re-write though.

I can't give you an exact cost for what it takes to host Mucho.
The file hosting and CDN is about half the cost but fluctuates greatly depending on traffic. For example after the New Zealand shooting we had 400% traffic for awhile because we were the only site in the Reddit/Chan-o-sphere to not remove the video. Big bill that month.
The webserver itself that runs the code is another big chunk and is much more consistent.
Altogether... Imagine you worked in Bumfuck Egypt, so for 5 days a week you went to a shitty fast food restaurant for lunch. Doing that would probably be more expensive than hosting MuchoZucko. So earning a penny a day on intrusive ads seemed like an exercise in futility.

Not sure which way is more effective/less work, but if Bono gave me the option to edit those pages, and possibly a to do list (hidden or visible to users, whatever), I know id be bored enough to maintain and update them more then he would.
This sounds like an email or chat conversation honestly, but at least now you can see how ineffectively we work.

I've always had an idea in my head that, similar to the original Mucho community, there'd be a way for members to have a say in its future and invest in its success. It used to come in the form of a "pro" shill program where you would pay a couple bucks a month in exchange for fun toys and additional features.
If I'm going to ask you faggots for money, it's going to have to be worth it. I need to program some cool shit (I have a list) before this becomes a thing, while at the same time making certain that general site updates and quality-of-life improvements are available for non-paying fags.
