    Bodycam-style footage from a Peruvian National Police (PNP) operation on the night of 21 May 2025 on the Vía Expresa (Paseo de la República), around Estación México of the Metropolitano, between Avenida México and Avenida Canadá.

    SUAT tactical officers and Dirincri investigators intercepted members of the car-theft/extortion gang “Los Injertos del Centro” in a stolen vehicle with cloned plates. The suspects opened fire and rammed other cars while trying to escape. Two gang members were killed (Alexander Alvarado Zeballos, alias “Moñongo,” and Giancarlo Huamaní Cornejo, alias “Cuarto de Pollo”); a third was arrested. Three officers were wounded, including Col. Juan Carlos Montúfar. No civilians were reported killed.
