There is a lot of fat on them, which runs of when you cook the duck. It has a very specific duck taste that people like, which is why duck fat can be used for cooking other things.

If I throw my duck in a big stew, then yes the stew becomes somewhat greasy. If I slow fry them in a pan, most of that grease goes out with the pan when I clean it.
