Can't seem to recreate that second "feature". Seem to loose the same amount of speed no matter what. Seems reasonable too because the cars probably have the same code anyway.
I think the cars are coded so they can jump from lane to lane at super speed, and they are also only 1 pixel thick, this is so their Ai doesn't have to be that good and there won't be any collisions. I think.
Number 2 is a good observation. Have to check that out.
